More options than one bank’s menu.
As an independent loan officer, Clendi can compare a wide range of loan types across many lenders. Here’s a plain-language look at some of what’s available. The right fit depends on your situation, and that’s what a conversation is for.
Everyday home loans
Conventional
The most common type of home loan, not backed by a government agency. A flexible fit for many buyers, whether it’s your first home or your next one.
Jumbo
For homes priced above the limits that apply to conventional loans, common in some Austin-area neighborhoods.
Government-backed loans
FHA
Backed by the Federal Housing Administration and designed to make buying a home more accessible, including for many first-time buyers.
VA
A benefit earned through service, backed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, for eligible veterans, service members, and some surviving spouses.
USDA
Backed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help buyers purchase homes in eligible rural and suburban areas. More of Texas may qualify than you’d expect.
Flexible & specialty loans
Bank statement loans
Designed for self-employed borrowers and business owners, using bank statements to show income instead of relying only on tax returns.
ITIN loans
For borrowers who have an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) instead of a Social Security number. Owning a home can still be within reach.
Renovate, refinance & later in life
FHA 203(k) purchase
Buy a home that needs work and combine the purchase and the cost of eligible repairs and renovations into one FHA-backed loan.
FHA 203(k) refinance
Already own a home that needs updates? Refinance and roll eligible improvements into one FHA-backed loan.
Cash-out refinance
Replace your current loan and use part of your home’s equity for things like renovations or other goals.
Streamline refinance
Simplified refinance options available for many existing FHA and VA loans, often with less paperwork.
Reverse mortgage (HECM)
A federally insured option that lets older homeowners use part of their home’s equity. Reverse mortgages come with their own rules and responsibilities, so Clendi walks through them carefully.
Help getting in the door
Down payment assistance
Texas has programs that help buyers with down payment and closing costs, such as Home Sweet Texas and Homes for Texas Heroes. Many people qualify and don’t know it.
And that’s not the full list.
These are some of the most common options, not the complete menu. Many other programs exist, and the right one depends on your specific situation. The way to find out what fits you is to talk with Clendi directly.
Ask Clendi what fits youThis page is a general overview, not an offer or a guarantee. Every loan is subject to credit and property approval, and not everyone will qualify. Program rules change over time; for current details, see each program’s official website or ask Clendi.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Most people don’t know which loan fits them, and they don’t need to. Clendi will look at your goals and walk you through the options that make sense.
